Singalong: My Body Belongs To Me

“My Body Belongs To Me” by Rolypoly Family

This is a song we wrote in 2019 to help children and grownups remember the core concepts of our body safety programme, Body Smarts Through Movement Arts. We hope singing this super catchy song and moving along will help children and grownups to remember the core body safety rules. And you can shake things up by naming as many body parts as possible – and dance with those body parts too 🙂

Big thanks to Singapore Children’s Society (Kidzlive: I Can Protect Myself) for paving the way for body safety education here in Singapore and for inspiring the song. With support by National Arts Council

Course 2: Body Boundaries

This is the second course in the Body Smarts Through Movement Arts series and will be released by June 2022.

After establishing that our bodies belong to us in Course 1: Body Ownership, we will delve into the topic of Body Boundaries in this Course 2. As parents, there are different ways we think about boundaries as we parent and nurture our children. In this course, we look specifically at how we can use the concept of boundaries to teach our children about safety and respect. Within the course, we will also provide tips on how to address this age-appropriately.

The videos contain short lectures and demonstrations, while the downloadable files provide a brief overview and additional notes. Included are movement-based activities you can be doing with your child to learn and practice body boundaries.

During the course, you can leave questions for us, or go anytime to the Forum page to start a conversation about Body Ownership.
