Body Smarts Through Movement Arts program equips children, young persons (CYP) and the adults who care for them with information and skills about body safety, respect and consent, through age-appropriate movement exercises, games and song.

Topics covered include body ownership, body boundaries, and consent.

We have partnered with: 6th Sense (in Kebun Bahru), CATCH Plus (student care centre in Jalan Kukoh), Superhero Me, Emergence Convergence Festival @ Ground-Up Initiative, Rainbow Centre School, Terra Luna Yoga, Trehaus School, TRANS SAFE Center and others.

Our Body Smarts Through Movement Arts Approach

We recognise that child sexual abuse happens because of the actions of the abusers, and that safeguarding at various levels – family, community, society, policy –  can make a big difference to the reduction of harm to children.

We also believe that all children and young persons have the right to education about their health and well-being (UNCRC, Article 24). This includes information and skills relating to body safety. Though adults have the responsibility to keep children and young persons safe, children can be equipped to differentiate between appropriate and inappropriate behaviour, and be empowered with safety steps that lower their level of risk and harm.

Therefore, the Body Smarts Through Movement Arts approach includes:

Body Smarts For Safer Adults

Body safety and consent education for parents, school staff, teachers, community workers, volunteers, etc.

Body Smarts For School-aged Children & Youths
